Digital and Data Driven Research Unit (DDDRU)

The DDDRU aims to support and create digital health research within UHCW NHS trust. Our vision is to enable world class digital research that helps patients, healthcare services and wider society. The DDDRU works to build partnerships with those working in universities and industry, along with others in health and social care, keeping the patient at the centre of all that we do

UHCW NHS Trust sits within an almost unique geography nationally, representing a truly diverse public and patient population.

The Trust’s ambition is to be a national and international leader in digital healthcare. To this end, UHCW has participated in over 32 externally funded Digital Health Research Projects since 2018, with a total value in excess of £30 million, bringing national and international expertise to benefit our local population. This funding has come from prestigious national and international funding bodies such as the National Institute for Health and Care Research, UK Research and Innovation councils, and the European Commission. These research projects are also broad in their clinical focus, covering 19 of the UK Clinical Research Councils Health Research Classifications. UHCW NHS Trust aims to enhance these outcomes even further in the future, by supporting and developing world-class digital and data driven research across the Trust achieved via formulation of The Digital and Data Driven Research Unit (DDDRU).
