IHESC will lead and embed research into effective ways to reduce healthcare inequalities across the wider health and care system. We will explore and develop opportunities in wider local and national systems.
Examples of research priorities include:
- Improving outcomes for newly arrived and transient communities
- Improving maternal health outcomes
- Reducing inequalities in late diagnosis through screening and health seeking behaviours
Integrated Care System (ICS) Research Engagement Network
In 2023, UHCW NHS Trust were part of a successful funding application to NHSE/DHSC to develop an Integrated Care System (ICS) Research Engagement Network, with further funding secured in 2024 and 2025.
The Coventry and Warwickshire ICS REN aims to increase engagement with communities that are often underserved by research and to improve diversity in research participation.
