Introduction to PPI Workshop

UHCW R&D PPIE Team deliver face-to-face Introduction to Patient and Public Involvement in Research Workshops throughout the year. 

Who is this workshop for?

This workshop is open to anyone that is interested in involving patients and the public in health and care research.

This includes:

  • Patients and the public
  • Health and care researchers
  • Health and care staff that have research interests
  • People that support health and care research

    Priority will be given to people involved in or planning to be involved in research at UHCW.

    What will be covered in the workshop?

    The workshop is interactive: it includes short presentations on different topics and activities.

    At the end of the workshop, participants will have:

    • An understanding what Patient and Public Involvement is, including key definitions.
    • An appreciation of why Patient and Public Involvement is important in health and care research.
    • An introduction to some key theories underpinning public involvement.
    • Knowledge of the UK Standards for Involvement and ideas of how these can be used
    • Signposting to further information to support future public involvement activities

    All workshop participants will receive a Certificate of Attendance.
