World Prematurity Day is observed on 17 November each year to raise awareness of preterm birth and the concerns of preterm babies and their families worldwide. Our Neonatal Research Team attended the celebration event held in our Faith Centre to raise awareness of Research in Neonates.

This year our Research Teams either wore red or explained why research is important and why people take part in research.

International Clinical Trials Day is celebrated on May 20th each year to recognise the importance of clinical trials in medical research and thank those involved, such as volunteers and healthcare professionals. This year our Research Teams were in the main entrance of University Hospital Coventry and Rugby, St Cross to raise awareness of clinical trials.

Organized by the Rotary Clubs of Rugby and other local clubs, our Research and Development Team were invited to spend their May Bank holiday meeting members of the public, small business and volunteers to raise awareness of research and how people can get involved in research either as a patient or member of the public.

The 'Inspiring Excellence' event at University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire (UHCW) NHS Trust was a one-day symposium held on Friday, May 24, 2024, which focused on excellence in research, innovation, practice, and education. It was a collaborative event between UHCW and Coventry University.

The Coventry and Warwickshire Clinical Research Facility (CRF) at University Hospital officially opened in March 2024. It was established to provide specialized facilities, support, and expertise for conducting clinical research, including early-phase studies.
